The Center of Analytical Research (CAR) provides researchers in the disciplines of chemistry, biotechnology, environmental analysis, textiles and food science with expertise, test methods and instruments for qualified analytical use. CAR supports knowledge- and application-oriented research, development and projects with extensive equipment and infrastructure. Liquid and gas chromatography, absorption and vibrational spectroscopy, nuclear and electron magnetic resonance spectroscopy, emission-absorption atomic spectroscopy, X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy, optical and electron microscopy, and especially hyphenated mass spectrometry are part of the instrumental-analytical compendium of CAR.
CAR is organizationally part of the Faculty of Chemistry 01 and the research institute ILOC. Thus, researchers and lecturers have access to an even more comprehensive set of tools for analysis, characterization, and property investigation. This includes access to synchrotron radiation at the Jagiellonian University in Krakow.
CAR cooperates with individual researchers, research groups, the university's affiliated institutes ILOC, A.U.G.E, HIT and the competence centres KAMU and CCMB, public institutions and private companies.
CAR provides support in cooperation or through contract work.
CAR conducts its own research in the form of bachelor's theses, master's theses and dissertations.
