EchoEase: Noise reduction meets sustainability - innovation from The Hochschule Niederrhein

EchoEase - this is the name of the product developed by students from the textile department at The Hochschule Niederrhein in collaboration with Kelheim Fibres as part of the 5th semester projects. The result is a balaclava that not only protects the wearer from the cold, but also reduces ambient noise.

The secret of the sound absorption lies in a fleece that was integrated into the headgear as an inner lining. It is designed to attenuate disturbing noises and give the wearer a pleasant, calm feeling in today's hectic world. "In the midst of the daily hustle and bustle, EchoEase should offer the opportunity to find peace and quiet wherever you are," explains one of the students on the project team.

But that's not all: another central concern of the students was to create a sustainable product. For this reason, the Balaclava is made from 100% biodegradable viscose fibers - a step towards environmentally conscious textile production.
