Sustainable future through the use of special viscose fibers containing lignin

Our team, consisting of eleven students from The Hochschule Niederrhein, researched a more sustainable future through the use of lignin-containing viscose specialty fibers as part of the 5th semester projects.
Together, we pursued the goal of identifying advantageous areas of application for the fibers obtained from wood. With the help of special quality tests, we were able to work out viscose-like properties based on the yarns and surfaces we successfully produced. This makes it possible to design stylish clothing and home textiles in a particularly environmentally friendly way.

Lignin as a by-product of pulp production has gone! Today we present a lignin-based two-piece that is not only on trend, but also contributes to a more sustainable future for the textile industry.

Many thanks to Kelheim Fibres for the cooperation!
