30 years of the FAUST Guest Auditor Program: Start of registration for the anniversary program

The registration phase for the FAUST guest student program for the winter semester 2024/2025 starts on 2 September.

The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) has published the FAUST guest student program for the winter semester 2024/25. The offer is aimed at all interested people and offers a comprehensive educational and cultural program with over 200 lectures and seminars. The events take place in face-to-face, digital or hybrid form. Registration is possible from September 2 to 20, 2024.

In its anniversary year, the HSNR is once again putting together an extensive educational program with familiar and new events. The program includes lecture series on philosophical, art-historical, creative and age-related topics. It all starts on September 25 with the FAUST anniversary celebration on the Mönchengladbach campus. All former, currently enrolled and new guest students are cordially invited. Please register by September 10.

A lecture series will be held at both the Krefeld South and Mönchengladbach campuses. At the Mönchengladbach campus, experts from various disciplines will shed light on facets of health and well-being in old age. For example, Dr. Lukas Streese will give a lecture on the "Effect of exercise on vascular health in old age" (November 28). On the topic of "Nutrition for health - what is important in old age?" (5 December) will be given by Professor Dr. Christel Rademacher.

"What connects us..." is the theme of the Krefeld lecture series and includes lectures from the fields of science, religion and culture. In addition to attending art history lectures, registered guest students have the opportunity to take part in two guided tours of the Kunstpalast Düsseldorf, organized and conducted by art historian Nicole Oversohl, at a reduced price.

In addition, selected events from HSNR's regular programmes from the Faculties of Chemistry, Design, Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, Mechanical and Process Engineering, Oecotrophology, Social Sciences, Textile and Clothing Technology, Business Administration and Economics, and Health Care as well as language courses can be attended.

Digital events are held using Zoom video conferencing software. A microphone and webcam are helpful, but not a requirement. For newcomers, introductory courses on the use of Zoom and the "moodle" learning platform are offered before the start of the semester.

The guest auditor fee is 125 euros per semester for all courses. All guest students receive an ID card that entitles them to use the canteen, language centers and libraries. The program booklet can be obtained in digital and printed form via the homepage. You can register online or in writing from September 2 to 20, 2024 and in person in Mönchengladbach and Krefeld from September 9. All information can be found at: http://www.hs-niederrhein.de/faust.
