Politopics" exhibition at the Pförtnerloge studio

As part of the 59th Krefeld A-Gang, communication designer and professor Nora Gummert-Hauser from The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) is showing her personal works under the title "Politopics" in the "Atelier Pförtnerloge" at Fabrik Heeder (Virchowstraße 130, Krefeld). The works can be seen from November 3 to 10 from 11 am to 6 pm. Admission is free.

Under the label "designkrefeld sichtbar", Nora Gummert-Hauser, Professor of Typography and Editorial Design at the Faculty of Design, is exhibiting many works with a political reference. The oldest work is a book from 2006 entitled "A Decade Of Security Council Resolutions 1996-2006" and deals with the resolutions of the United Nations Security Council (UN). The most recent work is the postcard series "Notes on China" on the occasion of this year's 35th anniversary of the massacre on Tiananmen Square in Beijing.

An important theme of the exhibition is "Shifting Borders". Gummert-Hauser used the 2014/15 winter semester as a research semester to deal with the German-Polish border shift. She dealt intensively with this complex historical topic, which became more topical than ever following Russia's invasion of Ukraine and annexation of Crimea in March 2014. Various publications on this topic can be seen in the exhibition.

The finissage will take place on Thursday, November 28 at 5.30 pm. Nora Gummert-Hauser will be a guest at the 94th Design Discussion from 8 pm. The event will be moderated by Prof. Dr. Erik Schmid at the Studiobühne 2 in the Fabrik Heeder.

The exhibition "Politopics" takes place in cooperation with the Krefeld studio exhibition "A" and the Cultural Office of the City of Krefeld.
