The city of Krefeld is turning 650 years old this year. This should be celebrated! But how do you design an anniversary event that takes into account all sides of the city's history - the good and the bad? Host Professor Dr. Erik Schmid (Faculty of Design at the Hochschule Niederrhein) discusses this with Claire Neidhardt, Head of Marketing for the City of Krefeld, as part of the 87th expenditure of the Design Discussion.

The focus of the discussion is the "anniversary". But how and why does one celebrate at all? And how does one design an event that remembers and reflects, but at the same time must do justice to the cause, the place, the demands, fears and possibilities?
