The Hochschule Niederrhein's (HSNR) next Design Discussion will focus on the topic of movement. On Thursday, October 17, Professor Dr. Erik Schmid, Dean of the Faculty of Design, will be discussing the topic with Didem Günel from 8 pm at Fabrik Heeder (Virchowstraße 130).
Günel was born in Krefeld in 1994. She left her job as a social worker to work as a freelance dance teacher and cultural scientist. Among other things, she was in Turkey this summer researching the Alevi ritual dance Semah.
Schmid and Günel talk about movement as an expression of the past, present and future. Movement is a path of physical, psychological, cultural and aesthetic change and can be found in images, things, relationships, dances and rituals.
