On Wednesday, May 24, 2023 (11 a.m. to 3 p.m.), the Faculty of Design at the Hochschule Niederrhein will be offering a very special event for all students, graduates, and prospective students: the career fair "designberufe rufen!" (design careers are calling!). There, students as well as other interested parties will gain insights and contacts into the working world of the design industry. The career fair will take place in the Shedhalle at Campus West on Frankenring 20 in Krefeld.

The format, which is unique at a design campus in North Rhine-Westphalia, brings together practitioners, theorists and students. The presentation of the design and creative industries supports the students in their step into the professional world. Students of design, computer science, marketing and business administration and economics are invited, as well as high school graduates and vocational school students who would like to get a first glimpse of the variety of future fields of work in design.

Companies from the fields of communication and product design, such as Scholz & Friends, KMS Team or ZUM GOLDENEN HIRSCHEN, as well as representatives of the Association of German Industrial Designers (VDID) will be on site. This is an opportunity to find out about job profiles, career opportunities, internships and training places. The HNX team of the Hochschule Niederrhein will be available to answer all questions on the subject of start-ups. Parallel to this, there will be an interesting lecture program with various discussion guests from the fields of communication and product design.

The design industry is a high-growth segment of the German economy and offers a variety of entry and career opportunities. "This is precisely why personal contacts and first-hand information are indispensable," says Prof. Dr. Erik Schmid, Dean of the Faculty of Design.
