The newly elected University Council of the Hochschule Niederrhein has elected a new leadership duo in its first official meeting. Dr. Armin Knors is the new chairman, Dr. Sabine Helling-Moegen takes over as vice-chairman. Both were elected unanimously with one abstention.
While Knors (Head of Engineering & Technology Bayer AG) is a member of the University Council for the first time, Helling-Moegen (Administrative Board Member German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases e.V.) has already been a member of the University Council since 2018.
"The Hochschule Niederrhein is a very important guarantor for developing highly qualified young professionals for the local economy. I myself started my academic apprenticeship at the Hochschule Niederrhein and am therefore pleased to be able to contribute my experience," says Dr. Armin Knors.
"For me, The Hochschule Niederrhein combines the important solution-driven view of technical and social challenges with high expertise in teaching education and research. In this way, it very successfully manages to inspire young people to take up a broad range of subjects with a high level of application relevance - and thus forms the essential prerequisite for their personal success, but also for the economic future of the entire region. I am very much looking forward to contributing my experience from non-university research here and to continuing to accompany this path in my new function," says Dr. Sabine Helling-Moegen.
The University Council is tasked with advising the Executive Board of the Hochschule Niederrhein on strategic issues for the next five years and overseeing the management.
