Cyber security expertise is currently more important and in greater demand than ever before. To meet the high demand for experts, The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) founded the Cyber Management Campus in 2020 with degree programmes in the field of cyber security. At the end of October, the HSNR said goodbye to its first graduates in the Monforts Quartier in Mönchengladbach. The economy and the city of Mönchengladbach are particularly pleased, as the graduates are now available to the job market. They can now actively help to protect companies and authorities from cybercrime.
At the graduation ceremony, the 25 graduates once again had the opportunity to review their studies. Together with their relatives, the university teachers / lecturers, the university presidium and other invited guests, including Mönchengladbach's Lord Mayor Felix Heinrichs, they looked back on the last four years. The students particularly emphasized the practical orientation of the teaching education and the good preparation for professional life. Despite the challenges posed by the coronavirus pandemic at the beginning of their studies, the graduates completed their studies in record time.
The university thanked the students for their positive attitude despite the pandemic and all the helpers and supporters from politics and business who made the Cyber Management Campus possible in the first place.
The graduates' future path is divided into those who will go straight into working life and those who will pursue a Master's degree at The Hochschule Niederrhein in addition to a career. "Finding a good job was very easy: with three applications, three interviews and three offers, I was able to make the decision myself," says one graduate, who now works in IT security at a bank.
Companies and institutions in the region can now continuously look forward to more graduates who have received practical orientation at the Cyber Management Campus and are equipped with up-to-date knowledge and methodological skills.
