Welcoming the newly appointed professors at the Museum Abteiberg

It is a good tradition at The Hochschule Niederrhein to welcome newly appointed professors at special locations in Krefeld or Mönchengladbach. This year, the university was a guest at the Museum Abteiberg in Mönchengladbach. A total of twelve newly appointed professors accepted the invitation and were officially welcomed in a festive setting.

"I am delighted that they accepted our invitation. We are here at the Museum Abteiberg because, in addition to teaching education and research, we also intensively pursue the idea of the Third Mission. The Third Mission extends our radius of activity to economic, societal, political and social areas in the region," opened Dr. Thomas Grünewald, President of the Hochschule Niederrhein.

Susanne Titz, Director of the Abteiberg Museum also welcomed the guests: "We always have points of contact with the Hochschule Niederrhein. Most recently, professors participated in a panel discussion as part of the High Security Society exhibition. I am very pleased that we can welcome them here today as new appointees."

After a guided tour of the exhibition, there was still a chance for exchange between the newly appointed and the invited guests of the Hochschule Niederrhein.

The Hochschule Niederrhein offers newly appointed professors a wide range of onboarding services. The university didactics team accompanies the start of teaching education in the first year at the university. In particular, the focus is on the didactic foundation courses for teaching education and examination planning. Furthermore, this platform offers a good opportunity for networking. As a result, several interdisciplinary teaching education and/or research projects have already emerged.
