The Hochschule Niederrhein has now launched two of a total of twelve projects funded as part of the third round of the "OERContent.nrw" funding program of the Ministry of Culture and Science and the Digital University NRW (DH.nrw). The aim of the funding line is the cross-university production of digital teaching/learning offerings for the state portal ORCA.nrw (Open Resources Campus NRW) and their use in courses at several universities.
In the project DigiFall ("Digital Casework - Transdisciplinary Self-Assessment in Pedagogical and Health-Related Contexts") by Prof. Dr. Anne-Friederike Hübener (Faculty of Applied Social Sciences), a transdisciplinary self-assessment is being developed that supports students in pedagogical and health-related fields in acquiring communication and counseling skills for working in multiprofessional teams.
Through problem-based and collaborative work on practical and constructed case studies, students are able to transfer their theoretical knowledge in communication, counseling and multi-professional work into practice. Modularized Moodle or Ilias courses are being developed that include videotaped case situations as well as general modules on counseling and transdisciplinary work. Participating universities are the Technical University of Dortmund (consortium leadership), the University of Siegen, the Ruhr-West University of Applied Sciences, the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences, and the Catholic University of NRW.
The WFDT project ("Knowledge Building Blocks and Case Studies on Digital Transformation") by Prof. Dr. Thomas Lux (Faculty of Health Care) addresses the development of modular learning units and adaptive integrated case studies on the overarching topic of "Digital Transformation" and targets events at both Bachelor's and Master's level. Knowledge modules and integrated case studies are being developed that can be configured by lecturers depending on the area of application and target group and support self-study, for example. The universities of applied sciences involved are the University of Applied Sciences Südwestfalen (consortium leader) and the Technical University of Cologne.
Both projects are funded with a total of almost one million euros. The cross-university projects will be implemented over a period of up to two years starting in September. After the degree of the projects, the digital teaching/learning offers will be added to the material collection of the state portal for studies and teaching education ORCA.nrw.
