Exciting topics that move our society - presented in an entertaining way in lectures at the historic Rheydt Castle: that is the MuseumsUni Mönchengladbach. This year, the series of events for secondary school students runs from September 10 to October 31. The free lectures in the Knights' Hall take place on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12 noon to 1 pm.
The concept developed by Museum Schloss Rheydt, The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) and the Mathematisch-Naturwissenschaftliches Gymnasium Mönchengladbach is now in its 12th round. Six professors from HSNR and two guest lecturers give an insight into their main areas of work in their lectures. Students can find out how diverse the subjects and topics are at The Hochschule Niederrhein.
Prof. Dr. Jens Brandt, Dean of the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science, will kick things off. He will show what artificial intelligence can do. The Middle East conflict between Israel and Hamas and international law will be the focus of guest speaker and lawyer Prof. Dr. Günter Krings, Member of the German Bundestag. Prof. Dr. Lena Evertz from the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics will shed light on how omnipresent YouTube, TikTok and WhatsApp are in our everyday lives and why we should move away from them.
"Why are there so many strikes recently?" Prof. Dr. Kleinebrink, Managing Director of the Vereinigung Bergischer Unternehmerverbände, gets to the bottom of this question. And how do you track down cyber criminals? Prof. Dr. Jürgen Quade from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science reveals the answer. Leon Blanckart, academic staff member at the Faculty of Textile and Clothing Technology, explains the properties and potential of algae for the production of sustainable textiles.
And Dr. Lukas Streese-Schüler from the Faculty of Health Care will explain the importance of physical activity in order to feel healthy and happy. To round off the degree, Prof. Dr. Frank Jebe from the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences will give a lecture on the topic "Super-Joker 'Art' about the creative person".
