The Federal Ministry of Education and Research's (BMBF) "Science at Home" project brings scientists from rural regions back to their home towns. There they talk about their research and teaching education. Why they do research and how it affects all of our lives. In this way, science in teaching education and research is made tangible for local people. The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) is once again taking part in the format after last year's successful premiere.
On Wednesday, November 27, 2024 (starting at 6:30 p.m.), Professor Dr.-Ing. Michael Heber will give a lecture on the topic of plastics. Heber will explain why plastics are not waste but valuable resources and what you should know about the conscious use of plastics. In addition to this main topic, the toxicity of plastics and the topic of microplastics will also be discussed. The event will take place at the Jugendzentrum Fischeln e. V. (Kölner Straße 430) in Krefeld. Admission is free.
Prof. Dr. Michael Heber teaches design education, plastics technology and production engineering at the Faculty of Mechanical and Process Engineering. He conducts research in the field of plastics, particularly in the area of sustainability.
