The Forum Politics, Culture & Education of the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences of the Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) invites you to events on the topics of anti-Semitism, racism and migration.
Sandra Franz will kick things off on May 3. From 12:15 to 1:45 p.m., she will speak at the HSNR in Mönchengladbach, Richard-Wagner-Strasse 101 (Room S 301), on the topic of "The Jews are different?" She will shed light on forms of anti-Semitism and othering in film as an expression of group-based misanthropy and a form of group identity formation.
Sandra Franz is a historian and Yiddish scholar and has been director of the NS Documentation Center in Krefeld since 2018. Her core research areas include Jewish social and emancipation history, Holocaust studies, anti-Semitism prevention, and Victorian mourning culture.
