Last Saturday, 350 math-loving students from North Rhine-Westphalia were guests at the Hochschule Niederrhein in Krefeld as part of the Mathematics Olympiad.
In the morning, the pupils from grades 5 to 12 were scheduled to take written examinations as part of the competition. In the afternoon, The Hochschule Niederrhein offered the competition participants an extensive range of workshops in which the pupils were able to get to know the individual faculties in a "playful way".
The Math Olympiad is organized by the Landesverband Mathematikwettbewerbe Nordrhein-Westfalen e.V.. The aim is to discover pupils who are gifted in math and to support them accordingly. The award ceremony for the participants will take place on Saturday, March 25th, 2023. The top pupils will then continue to compete with pupils from other German states.
