The general meeting of the Hannah Arendt Association for Political Thought elected a new Executive Board at the end of June. Professor Dr. Waltraud Meints-Stender from The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) forms the new management quartet together with Professor Dr. Lothar Probst, Anke Kujawski and Bastian Hermisson. Meints-Stender is a professor of Politics and Education in the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences at HSNR.
The association has also elected new international jury members for the selection of the next winners of the Hannah Arendt Prize for Political Thought. The new members are Prof. Dr. Thomas Brudholm (University of Copenhagen), the German-Russian Jewish writer Alexander Estis, the Eastern Europe expert Dr. Ulrike (University of Göttingen), Prof. Andrew Schaap (University of Exeter) and Prof. Dr. Cristina Sanchez (Autonomous University of Madrid). The prize will be awarded again in 2025 thanks to the prize sponsors Heinrich Böll Foundation and the Bremen Senate.
The Bremen-based association and the prize of the same name are named after the Jewish German-American political theorist and publicist Hannah Arendt.
