Symposium highlights opportunities for sustainable action in Health Care

"sustainable.healthy" - Symposium highlights opportunities for sustainable action in Health Care

This year's Krefeld Symposium - Management in Health Care has now taken place at the Faculty of Health Care at The Hochschule Niederrhein under the motto "nachhaltig.gesund - Patienten, Leistungserbringer, Gesundheitspolitik". The event offered around 70 students and interested parties exciting insights into a highly topical subject.

Renowned experts from business, science and politics spoke about the challenges and opportunities of sustainable action in Health Care. They then discussed the topic with students on the Health Care Management degree program and other participants. The degree was concluded with a panel discussion in which questions from the audience were discussed.

The aim of the symposium is to provide students with an up-to-date and practical orientation into the challenges of Health Care. The #GetConnected job fair took place alongside the lectures. Here, students had the opportunity to talk directly to companies in the healthcare industry. The fair facilitated contacts for project studies, internships, theses and even a possible career start.

Some of the speakers and company representatives were themselves graduates of The Hochschule Niederrhein. They showed the students the career prospects opened up by studies in Health Care Management.

The Krefeld symposium showed how important the dialog between science, business and politics is in order to develop sustainable solutions in Health Care - and how beneficial a close link between theory and practice can be for students.

Speakers: Heiner Vogelsang (Techniker Krankenkasse), Dr. Sven Lueke (hcb - Institute for Health Care Business), Roger Warich (Medtronic), Meral Thoms (MdL Bündnis 90/Die Grünen), Andre Cools (Solventum), Burkhard Fischer and Melissa Kurscheid (Krankenhausgesellschaft Nordrhein-Westfalen).
