The Hochschule Niederrhein has presented the FAUST guest student program for the winter semester 2023/2024. The offer includes an extensive educational and cultural program with over 200 lectures and seminars. The program is open to anyone interested in education - not only to people with university experience, but especially to anyone who enjoys learning and discussion in community. Events are held in face-to-face, digital or hybrid formats. Registration is available online from September 1 and in person from September 11.
Among the offerings are lecture series on philosophical, art historical, creative and age-related topics. For example, various speakers will address the topics "Truth?" and "On the Significance of Spaces, Places and Regions" in lecture series. Dr. Dirk Tölke will lecture on the art historical development of European art and its interrelationship with other world cultures. Things get interactive in the philosophical discussion forum PhiloAkiv.
In addition, selected events from the regular programmes of the Hochschule Niederrhein from the Faculties of Chemistry, Design, Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences, Mechanical and Process Engineering, Oecotrophology, Social Sciences, Textile and Clothing Technology, Economics and Health Care, as well as language courses can be attended.
Digital events are conducted using Zoom video conferencing software. A microphone and webcam are helpful, but not a requirement. For new students, introductory courses for the use of Zoom and the learning platform "moodle" are offered before the start of the semester.
The guest auditor fee is 125€ per semester for all courses. All guest students receive an ID card that entitles them to use the refectory, the language centers and the libraries. The program booklet can be obtained in digital and printed form via the homepage. Registration can be made online or in writing from 01 to 22 September 2023, and in person in Mönchengladbach and Krefeld from 11 to 22 September 2023.
