Krefeld/Mönchengladbach. Right-wing parties and their ideologies often use topics for their propaganda that emotionally trigger potential voters and stir up potential for conflict. Populistically heated topics include climate change and the energy transition.
A lecture entitled "How right-wing populism uses the topic of climate protection/energy transition" will take place on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, as part of the lecture series "GEMEINSAM NACHHALTIG". The event will take place online via Zoom from 17:15 to 18:30. Interested parties can register at hn-nrw.de/anmeldung-ringvorlesung-2024-2025/.
Dr. Beate Küpper has been invited as a speaker. She is a professor at the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences at Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR), where she researches and teaches social work in group and conflict situations. After the lecture, participants will be able to discuss with the speaker.
The event is organized by the Sustainability Alliance for Applied Sciences NRW, which invites participants to the "GEMEINSAM NACHHALTIG" lecture series every second Wednesday of the month, and the HSNR's Sustainability Support Office. The live lecture series has alternated between the participating universities for the past two years.
