Fashion collections of students and graduates at Krefeld Laufmasche

From September 20 to 24, the Krefeld Laufmasche will take place in downtown Krefeld, where 22 young designers will present their collections in construction containers. Also taking part are five - in part former - students from the Faculty of Textile and Clothing Technology at the Hochschule Niederrhein.

The 20 containers stand as exhibition areas distributed over the city center. The collections of the HSNR students and graduates can be seen at Behnisch Haus, Dyonisusplatz and at Evangelischer Kirchplatz. The exhibitors process socially relevant topics in colors, fabrics and patterns and show how they imagine the textile production of the future.

Antonia Dannenberg points to the melting of the glaciers with her alpine winter sports collection "MELT DOWN", which has won several awards. Transferred to six outfits, the disastrous development of global glacier melting as a result of global warming is visualized.

The collection "Dressed in Shadows" by Anna Droemont is inspired by shadows and their properties such as lightness, volatility and changeability. The product design is variable and can be rearranged as desired and expanded theoretically without limit.

With PLAY PAUSE! Jana Lewin developed a mono-material knitwear collection as an imaginative counter-design to life and mood in times of crisis. A large part of the design process involved developing the surfaces and structures on knitting machines in the laboratories of the Faculty of Textile and Clothing Technology.

Sonja Kreiterling presents her collection "There's blood." The collection has the clear goal of drawing attention to the stigmatizations of menstruation, breaking barriers and making a powerful statement about Female Empowerment.

Svenja Heidbüchel designed the collection "vicious circle" as part of the elective course "Experimental Design". The collection points to the extinction of native butterflies and highlights the need for a more conscious approach to nature.

Together with all other participants, the five designers can win the Golden Silk Ribbon, which is endowed with 10,000 euros. This will be awarded on September 23 at 6:30 pm on the corner of Königstraße and Marktstraße.
