The Faculty of Food and Nutrition Sciences at HSNR organizes master's house colloquia for high school students:in.

Students learn the reasons why HSNR conducts research in the field of nutrition and food.

Curious about how complex nutrition can be, how important it is and what you can do with food? Want to find out what students at the Hochschule Niederrhein are learning?

The Faculty of Food and Nutrition Sciences is targeting its Master's House Colloquia on May 4th and 11th as well as June 1st specifically at teachers in the upper grades and their students: In 20-minute lectures, students from the Nutritional and Food Sciences master's program will give schools an insight into what they are working on.

For example, they conduct research on how innovative foods are created from edible mushrooms, explore what a balanced diet costs, what alternatives are available for making beer, and how vegan spreads with a positive Nutri Score are developed. Also on the agenda are malnutrition prevention, treatment recommendations for obesity (adiposity) and nutritional counseling in oncology (the field of medicine for tumors and cancers).

The in-house colloquia will take place from 10 a.m. to noon each day at the Mönchengladbach campus. The specialist lectures will be followed by a scientific exchange.

If you would like to participate, please send an e-mail to Lara Sibum at lara.sibum(at)hs-niederrhein.de with your group of upper school students. She will also be available to answer any further questions.
