The Hochschule Niederrhein (HSNR) cooperates with educational institutions all over the world. This provides students with unique opportunities for continuing education. From 28.08. to 15.09.2023, students from the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science attended the largest summer school to date at the Chinese German University of Applied Sciences (CDHAW). The summer school consists of a stay of several weeks at Tongji University in Shanghai.
A 21-day program packed with cultural and scientific activities awaited the students on site. They were able to gain insights into China's economy, politics, language and culture. They also learned about digitalization and globalization in education. There were also excursions to the sights of Shanghai and the surrounding cities. The students also visited the factories of well-known German companies.
The students were enthusiastic about the impressions they gained on site. "The stay in China was fantastic and an unforgettable experience. The summer school focused on education, culture and technology in China. There were also numerous company visits to get an idea of the working world in China and to make valuable contacts. The diversity of the culture, the fascinating architecture and the warm hospitality of the people made a big impression on us," says Hüsnü Fidanci, a student at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science at HSNR.
In cooperation with the CDHAW, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science offers a double degree in the Bachelor's degree programme in Mechatronics at the renowned Tongji University. The CDHAW is an institution at Tongji University in Shanghai. It was founded in 2004 as a pilot project of the Chinese Ministry of Education and the Federal Ministry of Education and Research and has since become a successful example of cooperative education projects.
