University participates in zdi summer camp

The Hochschule Niederrhein is participating in the zdi summer camp again this year. It offers young talents an exciting opportunity to discover and develop their skills in the STEM fields of mathematics, computer science, natural sciences and technology during the upcoming summer vacations. Organized by the zdi Center Mönchengladbach in cooperation with renowned companies, educational institutions and the city of Mönchengladbach, this year's motto is "Cosplay, Coden, Design, Craft".

On various dates during the summer vacations, pupils from the seventh grade upwards will have the chance to try their hand at various projects free of charge, get to know companies and learn new skills. Cosplay, robotics, CNC programming, pneumatic circuits, coding and avionics are just some of the topics represented. The zdi summer camp, which is led by the zdi Center Mönchengladbach (Future through Innovation NRW), aims to get young people excited about the world of science and technology and give them valuable insights into future-oriented career fields.

Some of the courses take place in the modern training workshops of the SMS group, Scheidt & Bachmann or Trützschler together with apprentices. The creative courses from the cosplay area have found their home in the new MakerSpace of the Central Library. In the premises of Team Craft, a spaceship takes off into outer space, and the Wanlo village campus takes to the skies with the participants. A brand new course format called Papercraft, on the other hand, is presented in Heinrich Steuber's showroom.

"The zdi summer camp is a unique experience for talented young people who want to discover their passion for science and technology," says Björn Hollburg, project manager at the zdi Center in Mönchengladbach. "We are proud to organize these events in cooperation with our partners and offer pupils the opportunity to develop their potential, get to know local companies and possible future employers, and have fun at the same time."

The number of participants is limited, so early free registration is recommended.
