The Faculty of Design initiates thinking spaces for interdisciplinary and future-oriented programmes. Lecturers and students from all faculties are invited to explore together how interdisciplinary teaching education can be tested and consolidated at the HSNR.
We are convinced that the university can solve complex everyday issues even more effectively by combining a wide range of teaching and research skills.
In universities of applied sciences in particular, all degree programmes aim to develop optimizations for a better life. For example, research and teaching education is conducted on megatrends such as nutrition, security, sustainability, health, connectivity and urbanization. These complex topics can hardly be addressed by individual disciplines alone. The future therefore needs more interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary collaboration and the university needs new teaching models that make this possible.
During Campus Week on October 24 and 25, two events will take place in the Shedhalle on Campus West.
On Thursday, October 24 , a WorldCafé, a flexible and open working atmosphere, will discuss the topics of connectivity, technology, urban culture, culture and creativity as well as sustainability. Opportunities for cooperation will be explored and initial measures for the concretization of various inter- and transdisciplinary teaching models will be developed. This is about a lively and diverse exchange. Every impulse is welcome. Lecturers and students meet at eye level.
On Friday, October 25, the findings of the first day will be reflected upon in salon discussions. In panel discussions, the findings from the previous day will be reflected upon, best practice experiences from the university will be presented and the necessary structures for inter- and transdisciplinarity will be discussed.
Spontaneous keynote speeches from the Faculty of Design will illustrate the role that the discipline of design can play in an interdisciplinary university strategy.
The salon talks will culminate in a culinary degree with a Radiant Serving by Hyperlokal
New food and serving concepts developed by design students together with star chef Christian Krüger will be served. The Hyperlokal was initiated by Prof. Lisa Freyschmidt and is a format for design-driven culinary research and experience projects in the Faculty of Design.
