The Unyielding - Part 1

We start on Sunday, December 01 at 2 pm with the movie

"The Unyielding - Part 1" (FSK: 0)

at Köntges on Waldhausener Str. 16 in Mönchengladbach.

The film by Torsten Körner uses interviews and archive material to shed light on the role of female politicians in Germany. Twelve chapters show how women fought for their place in politics against the odds.

The film screening is organized and financed by the SkF Women's Shelter Mönchengladbach in cooperation with the Altstadtinitiative MG e.V. Köntges and Gemeinsam. Diversity. Life! Partnership for Democracy MG.

The Unyielding - Part 2

It continues on Wednesday, December 04 at 5 pm with the second part

"The Unyielding - Part 2" (FSK: 6 | Admission 16:30)

in the main auditorium V2 of The Hochschule Niederrhein, Webschulstraße 43, Mönchengladbach.

The second part puts the women of the GDR in the spotlight: it tells the multifaceted life stories of both prominent personalities and ordinary GDR citizens. While the East often boasted of equality - keyword kindergarten places and working mothers - the reality was often different.

The film screening is organized and financed by the Equal Opportunities Officer of The Hochschule Niederrhein.

Feminism WTF

Last but not least, on Wednesday, December 11 at 5 p.m., the film

"Feminism WTF" (FSK: 12 | admission 16:30)

will also be shown in the main auditorium V2 of The Hochschule Niederrhein, Webschulstraße 43, Mönchengladbach.

The film highlights current issues and goals of feminism. Katharina Mückstein talks to experts from politics, social sciences, gender, queer and trans studies about power relations and ways to break them down. Topics such as

gender binary, care work, criticism of capitalism, racism and climate justice are the focus.

The film screening is organized and financed by the Equal Opportunities Officer of The Hochschule Niederrhein.
