The decision for a Degree programme requires a lot of information about oneself and about the field of study or the Degree programme. We would like to make it possible with various offers to get an impression of the respective fields of study or Degree programme.

The free workshops during the Easter and fall vacations are designed to give schoolchildren and prospective students a practical orientation to the fascinating and exciting world of tinkering and experimenting with science, mathematics, computer science and technology. Creative workshops will be held in the fields of fashion and design.

The HSNR Central Student Advice Office is organizing a small in-house fair just before the application deadline.
The Hochschule Niederrhein offers all prospective students the opportunity to attend one or more lectures. The Open Lectures are regular lectures from the first semesters.
Schools
The Central Student Advice of the HSNR supports students in their decision-making process with a comprehensive and diverse range of orientation services to make an informed choice of study.
The orientation offers serve schools as building blocks to support and accompany their students in the study choice process with regard to KAoA. The majority of the study orientation offers correspond to the standard elements "SBO 9.2.1 Study Orientation" and "SBO 9.1 Practical Elements".
Visit our university or we will visit you! In consultation with you, the teachers, we will organize an offer according to your needs.
In groups:
Schools can visit the university in groups.
Program items for student groups typically include attendance at one or two lectures, presentations, campus tours, library visits, and a meal in the dining hall.
Individual Student:s:
Individual students can book a college week, college internship, or college day!
The student will be supervised by a student during his/her stay at HSNR. In addition to the lectures, the program includes going out to eat with the student in the cafeteria and getting to know the campus.
Cooperation opens up a wide range of advantages and opportunities for everyone involved. Interested students get a taste of university life for the first time and decide what they want to study. Teachers can expand their technical knowledge through further training at the HSNR.
A cooperation leads to a dialog between university and school! It enables a relief for teachers through synergy effects. Both sides profit from valuable working contacts and the exchange with each other. We are looking forward to your interest and to joint projects that will be launched!

The workshop on study orientation supports students and prospective students in their decision-making process. They learn what options are available to them to plan their professional future.

The students work out concrete steps for themselves to lay the first important stones for their future.
Coding School - In the Coding School, students from the 9th grade onwards can learn programming with the Rasberry Pi through exciting projects (e.g. alarm system, smart home control, cell phone apps).

The Central Student Advice Service uses Student Ambassadors to inform students in schools about everything they need to know about studies.
Student ambassadors are students from the Hochschule Niederrhein who talk about their own personal path to studies and how they found their way through it: How did the decision to study come about? What is it like to study at the Hochschule Niederrhein? What obstacles did they face and what successes did they achieve?
Study ambassadors are a valuable addition and an important building block in career and study orientation.
