As part of the Night of Biosignals 2024, which took place simultaneously in several cities on November 15, 2024, our working group had the opportunity to make an exciting contribution to the event. Lars Gierschner, M.Eng., gave a captivating talk entitled:
“When lack of pain becomes a problem - sensor system supports wound healing”
The lecture was dedicated to the challenges in the medical care of patients with reduced pain perception - a situation that often leads to serious wound healing problems. Lars Gierschner presented innovative approaches from our projects in which sensor-based systems are being developed to actively support wound healing. These technologies enable precise monitoring of the healing process and offer new approaches for the early detection of complications.
The event provided an excellent platform for exchange between experts, students and interested members of the public. The Night of Biosignals, organized by the VDE's Biosignals Committee, impressed with exciting presentations and discussions that highlighted the latest developments in medical technology. Supplemented by live broadcasts from other locations, visitors from all over Germany were able to benefit from a wide range of expert contributions.
