Academic staff member of the SWK E² - Institute of Energy Technology and Energy Management heard as an expert in the Bundestag

On June 12, 2023, the German Bundestag's Committee on Climate Protection and Energy held a public hearing.

Marius Madsen, academic staff member at SWK E² - Institute of Energy Technology and Energy Management, attended the public hearing as an expert on behalf of the institute. The specialization of the hearing was the current government draft of the Energy Efficiency Act. The hearing provided an opportunity to give MPs an insight into the enormous energy efficiency potential of German industry. Marius Madsen also explained why many economic energy efficiency potentials are not tapped and for which companies energy management systems (ISO 50001) are economically worthwhile.

The energy efficiency potential and the obstacles to its implementation were examined in a short study in March 2023. The "Short study on energy efficiency measures in industry" was conducted under the direction of Prof. Meyer together with the academic staff of the institute Lukas Saars and Marius Madsen.
