The updated Progress Pride Flag includes the LGBT+ Pride Flag, also known as the rainbow flag, as well as a wedge with the colors of the trans pride flag and the inter* pride flag.

Rainbow flag: The red in the flag stands for life, orange for healing, yellow for the sun, green for nature, blue for harmony and purple for spirituality.

Trans pride flag: The blue stands for masculinity, pink for femininity and white for non-binary, inter*, trans*.

Stripes in brown and black: trans* people and people of color and black for people living with and dying of AIDS.

inter* Pride flag: yellow and purple as non-gender-specific colors, the circular shape symbolizes the wholeness of inter* people.

The wedge shape stands for the social progress that still needs to be made from the community's perspective.

This year, as a member of the university, you not only have the opportunity to go along to the CSD parades in Mönchengladbach and Krefeld as a group, but you also have the chance to have your design represent the university and its LGBTQIA+ community.

The PrideProgress network, in cooperation with Equal Opportunities and the Department of University Culture and Diversity, is calling for a T-shirt design competition. You can submit a design measuring up to 30 x 30 cm for the front (and back) of a T-shirt. You can find the possible T-shirt colors here. You can send your entry with entry form and declaration of consent to gleichstellung(at)hs-niederrhein.de.

Three finalists will be selected from all designs by a jury consisting of University Communications, PrideProgress organizers and the AStA queer oral presentation. Jury members are Cristina Lohr, Steffen Fiorenza, Patrick Wendtland, Dr. Sandra Laumen and tba (as of 23.01.2025).

The evaluation criteria for the jury are

• Conformity of the design with the university's corporate design
• Representation of the LBGTQIA+ community and the university

The final design will be chosen at the PrideProgress network meeting on May 6, 2024 in the Shedhalle (Krefeld-West campus): All participants of the meeting can vote anonymously for a motif. The design with the most votes will be printed and distributed free of charge to everyone who takes part in one of the two CSD parades or helps out at the stand.

• Front and back (one-sided possible)
• Submission as .jpg and as a printable PDF or similar, printable format
• The design must be provided in an editable format.
• T-shirt color is included in the Fruit of the Loom selection (see document). Specify the color in the entry form!
