In the joint project between Brain of Materials AG and Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences, we created an innovative process chain - from fibre preparation and yarn production to the textile surface. Hemp is considered the most sustainable fibre and grows in a temperate climate. Our hemp is sourced locally from Germany. The recycled wool comes from carpets that are regarded as a waste product. This makes "CannaReWool" not only a fully biodegradable, circular, healthy product, but also strengthens local agriculture and develops regional supply chains. Its natural aesthetics make "CannaReWool" perfect for use in interiors and automotive, and great for pairing with other materials.

Special quality:
CannaReWool is a joint project of Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences and Brain of Materials AG, using funding from the European Regional Development Fund 2014-2020 (Funding reference: EFRE-0802000). Particularly noteworthy is the novel combination of two sustainable natural fibres, which works entirely without synthetic fibres and cellulose-based regenerated fibres.
