Traditionally physical and fashion features are dissolved. The collection consists of minimalist cuts that are cut away from the body and have a youthful character. Attention-seeking or accentuating elements in the cut have been consciously avoided. By using elastic bands, the wearer can decide for themselves how closely the clothes fit the body. To avoid premature gender assignment through hair, each outfit includes a head covering.
The resulting street wear collection consciously distances itself from known gender stereotypes in clothing. I want to show how clothing can look like that offers the possibility for more diversity.
The trousers are wide-cut and can be adjusted to the desired width by folding the waistband. A needle can be passed through the buttonholes to maintain the width of the trousers. This ensures that the trousers can be worn by different bodies. The height at which the trousers are worn can also be decided by the wearer. The top is asymmetrically cut with only one strap over the right shoulder.
Material:
- Top: Single Jersey 100% polyester
- Trousers: Satin 100% cotton
Technology:
Through an experimental process of layering and removing different color layers, the textile design of my collection emerged. The individual layers of fully abstract patterns symbolize the rich facets of the gender spectrum. The textile prints were produced digitally by the Kornit printing company using pigment printing.
