Body physiological parameters are e.g. body temperature but also sweat levels. In the SmartSeam project, moisture sensitive hybrid yarns were developed by hollow spindle spinning and integrated by sewing technology in an undergarment for sweat level measurement. The sensory yarn is placed along the spine where sweating takes place. It measures humidity by a capacitive principle, whereby moisture is taken up by hygroscopic cellulosic material.
Material:
