Street art has always seen itself as subversive art that provocatively wants to draw attention to grievances. That‘s how issues like climate change have made it onto the streets. The art form itself has also evolved significantly in recent years and has produced a variety of different techniques and artists.
One of these artists is the portuguese eco street artist Vhils, who served as the inspiration for this collection. Vhils works exclusively with material that already exists and creates new motifs through removal techniques.
Within this collection, these techniques were transla- ted into textile techniques, integrating finishing practi- ces such as textile printing and laser cutting. Everything is exclusively made out of materials that already exis- ted. The fabric is upcycled from bridal fashion of the company IVY OAK. The result is a streetwear collection with gender-neutral garments, detached from the femi- nine aspects of bridal wear.
