Technology / Product Development
The show piece is a student project within the scope of the course of study Clothing Technology / Product Development.
The task of the student research project was to develop a leather bag in combination with technical textiles. The cut of the bag model was developed with the CAD program GRAFIS and manufactured from a combination of classical leather goods and technical textiles.
The result of the student project is an innovative handbag, which combines thematically and technically two different styles (Black-) Avantgarde and Techwear in one product.
The bag picks up the influences of classic leather manufacturing and handcrafts of Black Avantgarde fashion. High-quality leather was used as the upper material and techwear-typical textiles were used inside the bag.
The design is rounded up by the use of modern attachments such as stands or clasps made of polyamide.
Material:
- Upper material: Box calf leather (chrome tanned)
- Lining: Sail laminate with Technora® X-Ply:
Sail laminate with Technora® X-Ply is a film laminate made of polyester and the aramid black Technora® from Teijin Aramid Europe GmbH. The transparent film laminate is windproof, does not absorb any moisture and has a water column of 5000 mm
- V-Buckle (magnetic quick release)
Special quality:
The inner lining used sail laminate with Technora® X-Ply.
The bag has a large main compartment with a D-ring for attaching accessories with a carabiner and a waterproof compartment with a zipper.
To ensure the waterproofness of the zippered compartment, all seams were additionally taped and sealed with seamtape. Furthermore, a waterproof zipper was used.
For good handling, the bag has two long handles, which also allow a shouldering of the bag. To optimize the stability and the stand, a polyurethane tube was incorporated into the interior of the leather handles.
